2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 6.6L hesitation mil lamp on

Truck Question:

This truck is giving us 2 injector fault codes: defective injector driver and voltage relay control problem. Reset the code and it came back especially after driving for about 30 minutes. It would then loose power and be forced to stop. If I wait for a couple of hours, it would ran fine again. Any suggestions?

ATS Adviser:

There is a TSB # 05-06-04-047C Dated April 23 2008 which covers this 6.6 Duramax diesel engines regarding codes: P0202, P2149, P0207, P02146 and P194. It modifies the injector connector circuits on cylinder 2 and 7 which are prone to loose connector fit. This results in intermittent lost of wiring signal causing hesitation, lost of power including the mil lamp on. The TSB covers installing a modified 90 degree wiring connectors and harness support bracket repair kits for 2 cylinders including the complete installation procedures.

The part number from GM is 98017958 for injector connectors #2 and #7 injector service repair kit.

If the cost of the kit is too much, you can buy a similar connectors from your local parts store. This can be modified if you can see how the wirings are routed.

Final Fix:

I installed the revised injector wiring kit bought from the dealer. I needed the truck right away but thanks for the quick service!
